This sideboard buffet is a classic Duncan Phyfe style gorgeous piece of painted furniture. It’s solid, heavy and absolutely stunning!!! This was my third piece from the Simcoe mother/daughter team where I picked up a few other pieces.
I refinished the top surface of the sideboard with Minwax Special Antique Walnut Stain and painted the rest of the cabinet with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old White. After applying a couple of coats of the paint I distressed the edges to highlight the accents of the piece. Wax was then added to provide added durability. Then the lovely hepplewhite pulls have been spray painted in an antique brass finish.
The dimensions of the sideboard buffet is 60″W x 22″D x 35″H.
It has loads of storage for any dining room or bedroom. If you have the room, it would look stately in a foyer as well.
This is a fine example of refinished and painted furniture and what you can do to create your own style at home.
It certainly was lovely before but the after is spectacular!!!
