Here she is!! Isn’t she fabulous!! My client Victoria (Tory for short) wanted a shabby chic wardrobe to be finished in a great two toned wet distressed technique with yellow and red, similar to the other pieces I did for her. This idea came to her from an inspiration photo she found on Pinterest and sent me. This is my version of this lovely piece.
As with the previous pieces for Vicky, “Tory” has been completed with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Emperor’s Silk first and then ASCP in Arles to cover the red. All was wet distressed to have the red peek-a-boo through the yellow at all those strategic spots. I left the interior of the cupboard in the Emperor’s Silk colour to give it a bit of a dramatic feel when the cupboard was opened. I then waxed the whole shabby chic wardrobe with ASCP Soft clear wax for protection and durability.
Again, as the previous pieces for Vicky, I added a water based glaze by General Finishes in a brown colour called Van Dyke to give it a further aged patina.
Let us know if you have any questions regarding this shabby chic wardrobe or any other piece we have completed.
