What a transformation of these lovely refinished drum end tables. I found them on “Glenayr” Dr. in Niagara Falls last week and couldn’t wait to get started on them. I knew I wanted a dark top and almost white body on these cabinets.
The veneered tops on these tables were in very good shape so I cleaned the surface with the recommended 1/2 denatured alcohol and 1/2 water solution using a fine sanding sponge. This takes the top finish off of them to allow the gel stain to adhere better to the surface. I applied 2 coats of General Finishes Java Gel Stain and 2 coats of Minwax wipe on polyurethane.
The colour I chose was my go to Annie Sloan Premium Chalk Paint in Old Ochre. After 2 coats of paint, I distressed to add an aged look and then clear waxed with Annie Sloan Clear Soft Wax for protection and added durability. The cute little knobs on the front received a spray of Rustoleum Oil Rubbed Bronze. Such a great contrast!!
These lovely refinished drum end tables would look great in almost any room of your home that would need a large surface to place your cup of tea, glass of white, lamp or even a bouquet of flowers.
They each measure: 24 “D x 22 1/2 “H
