I’ve been looking for a piece like this painted walnut buffet for a client of mine for a few weeks now. If you’ve been reading my blogs lately you will know that Vicky from Hamilton had me complete the “Glendee” dining set for her new home in Orillia. She needed a buffet to match. I found this lovely from a young lady in Waterdown on the weekend who’s daughter was the sweetest little thing named “Leyla”. I thought this a fitting name for this lovely antique painted walnut buffet made by the Peppler Bros. Company of Hanover, ON.
As the “Glendee” dining set I refinished the top with General Finishes Antique Walnut Gel Stain and Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Country Grey. I needed to do two coats with a third for touch up. I then lightly distressed all the edges to highlight all the wonderful ornate bits on the top drawer, bottom of the centre cabinet and of course that lovely linear crown piece. The mouldings too are extraordinary with the face of the piece displaying three different types. Just beautiful!!
I finished the cabinet with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Soft Clear Wax for protection and durability. The top surface was finished with two coats of General Finishes Gel Top Coat….. what a great product!!
This piece is quite large measuring in at: 68″W x 22″D x 41″ H (to the crown)
Please let us know if you have any questions about this piece or any other we have completed. We would be happy to provide a quote for a piece that you may have at home that might need a bit of love!!
