We found this painted server on “Page” street in Welland, Ontario. The young couple that we purchased it from told us that this piece came from a family friend’s home that “seemed” to be in a hoarding situation. I was going to simply name it “Page” but my husband thought that was a little boring so he suggested we call it “Jimmy Page” after the great guitarist.
As mentioned above this piece was in really rough shape when we picked it up as something had leaked out onto one side of the surface of the cabinet and much of the veneer was damaged. So we completely took the veneer off and found this beautiful walnut board underneath.
We completely sanded and refinished the surface with Java Gel Stain by General Finishes. It was then polyurethaned for protection and durability. The rest of the painted server was given two coats of Annie Sloan Old White, distressed and clear waxed for durability. The drawers were lined with a chevron pattern in aqua and white.
This painted server measures: 60″W x 20″D x 39″H and has two large centre drawers along with one large drawer on the bottom of the cabinet. Two large open shelves on either side of the drawers have lots of storage for the large items that don’t get used very often.
