This lovely painted hutch was picked up in Hamilton along with the Glendee Buffet a couple of weeks ago. This piece was also made by the Harris Furniture Company in Stratford Ontario. The black walnut is such a beautiful wood to work with.
It received a stripping and staining with my go-to favourite General Finishes Java Stain. The painted hutch wood grain surface then received two coats of GF High Performance. It is simply perfect.
The rest of the painted hutch received 3 coats of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old White along with a medium distress and finally finished with ASCP Clear Soft Wax for protection and durability.
The hutch is on the small size and measures 32”W x 18”D x 68 ½”H and would make a wonderful addition to a shabby chic kitchen/eating area or perhaps a great hutch for the bathroom to store extra towels or perhaps a great spot to drop your keys, mittens and scarves in the mudroom.
