This great green painted desk made of pine was found in Smithville on Forestview Crescent. Funny how I never knew this newer subdivision existed in Smithville. I had driven through Smithville hundreds of times before but never knew it was there on the other side of town.
The couple that sold it to me was retired and ready to finish their basement and had to clear out some the furniture pieces, one of which was this pine desk, at a steal of a deal I might add.
I think the green painted desk turned out wonderfully!!! I refinished the top with my favourite General Finishes Antique Walnut Gel Satin and High-Performance topcoat. The rest of the desk was painted with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in a combination of 4 parts Chateau Gray and 1 part Graphite giving it a wonderful “Forest” view colour. After 2 coats I applied a good coat of ASCP Clear Soft Wax and then prepared a glaze of 10% mineral spirits and Gel Stain to go on top and wipe off.
This large green painted desk measures: 50”W x 17”D x 30 ½ “ H and has deep drawers on both sides for lots of storage of school supplies in the kid’s rooms, for gloves and scarves at the front door/mudroom or even a workspace for mom in the kitchen!!
