I’m going to call these lovely glazed pine tables “Linda & Tony”. They belong to my lovely clients Linda and Tony from St. Catharines. They wanted to give them a new lease on life. Linda wanted a colour that was in the beige family to compliment the room they are going into. Tony wanted dimension so glazing and whitewash were in the cards for this gorgeous set.
My original choice of product for this project was General Finishes in a colour called Millstone but unfortunately, my supplier Lee Valley Tools in Burlington did not have this colour in stock. So on to my next plan. I decided to use Fusion Mineral Paint. Because I wanted to glaze I wanted something that didn’t require a sealer and so Fusion Paint was my choice. The colour that I chose for them was Cathedral Taupe.

I did seal the basecoat with a water based poly product by General Finishes called High Performance. I always like to seal my surfaces before I glaze. After the sealer dried, I applied General Finishes Van Dyke Brown Glaze. After the glazing application I thought it looked a bit heavy, so I added a colour wash (half paint, half water) on top of the glazing layer. This gave it a lighter feeling and much more dimension.
I hope you enjoy your glazed pine tables, Linda and Tony! They look amazing!!
