It’s all those little things, like finishing touches on drawers, that my clients are tickled pink about that puts a smile on my face. When I first started painting furniture almost two years ago a lovely young lady that came to see one of my dressers was so impressed that I put these little finishing touches on drawers of pieces that I finish. I have to admit I don’t always put liners in drawers. I find that if the drawer is in good shape it doesn’t always need a liner. And if it’s in really bad shape I will paint it out and the liner isn’t needed. But it really doesn’t take much time at all…. really!!
I get very excited about finding the right paper for the right piece. I recently picked up some cool burlap imprinted rolls from Micheal’s. At $1.50 per roll…. it really isn’t a big expense at all. Burlap is so popular right now and I love that it is neutral and will go with just about any colour I have painted my piece in. I’m working on a large wardrobe right now and guess what I’m putting into it this afternoon!! That’s right this great burlap paper will line the bottom of the open cabinet and the bottom of the drawer.
Here are some finishing touch on drawers that I have previously lined ….
I’ve even lined a foam backer board with wall paper to embellish the back of a small china cabinet that I finished in this chic grey colour. A little bit of colour and texture sure goes a long way!!
