“Opie” is a lovely bench that was bought at auction some years back. Today was the day that it got a new look. Fresh and young again.
I painted the dark wood in my favourite old white Annie Sloan chalk paint, distressed it and waxed with the clear wax by Annie Sloan bring out this deep rich off white colour.
“Opie” got a new fabric with yellow and blue birds (very whimsical). This would make a wonderful seat in front of the fireplace, extra seating in the lounge or bedroom. It has a secret compartment with slots to separate whatever it is you wish to “keep secret”. I imagine it may have been used as a sewing box of some sort.
The dimensions are 17″W x 16″D x 20″H.
This is a fine example of refinished and painted furniture and what you can do to create your own style at home.
